Large-scale work to protect the West Coast Main Line will be undertaken during January 4th to 12th Passengers who want to travel between Milton Keynes and rugby are advised to plan their trip in advance while the work is in progress.
The work done will reduce the risk of flooding along the route by rehabilitating the drainage system to prevent heavy rains from flooding the route. These improvements are designed to increase the reliability of the route for both passengers and cargo. During the upgrade, the train journey will be 25 minutes longer as the train will be rerouted via Northampton to avoid drainage work. There are few connections between the crew and Euston, and passengers need to switch to rugby. Passengers are advised to check www.nationalrail.co.uk to make plans before traveling.
