The B17 Steam Locomotive Trust announced that the first drive wheels were cast for use in the LNER B17 No.61673 Spirit of Sandringham.
The casting was completed by William Cook Castings and was recently removed from the mold and cooled.
After cooling, the cast is cleaned and the photo above shows the work.
In December 2021, we reported on William Cook Cast Products Ltd's B17 Trust. I ordered 6 6'8 "drive wheels.
The wheels use the same pattern as the 60163 Tornado, and the B17 Trust received the drive wheel pattern from the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust. Each wheel undergoes NDT inspection using both X-ray and ultrasonography to ensure product safety.
