The Southwestern Railroad has announced that it has extended the lease of Class 707 trains until August 2022 to improve the capacity of its suburban lines.

Twelve of the 30 SWR Class 707s were scheduled to move to the southeast, but under the agreement, SWR's leases were extended until August 2022.

The other 18 Class 707s have already been relocated to the Southeast and have been in operation on the Grove Park, Hayes and Dartford routes since September 2021.

This move aims to reduce the capacity of the SWR that was affected by the modified Arterio launch prior to Omicron's reduction in passenger numbers.

Train drivers say they are waiting for Alstom to deliver a train that meets the specifications. When it goes down, SWR says it will start a testing and training program.

According to its own statement, SWR is not spending a lot of money on overhauling trains that need to be retired and replaced.

Claireman, Managing Director of SWR, commented: This test period.

"We want to truly address this challenge and reassure our customers that they have comprehensive short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans to protect their customers' journeys after they are on track. I think.

“Maintaining Class 707 is an important part of our medium-term approach. We would like to thank South Eastern for their constructive cooperation to support the broad interests of all railroad users. David Wornham, Director of South Eastern Passenger Services, said: I agreed to make a small change in the transfer schedule because I want to understand and help with the challenges facing SWR. We look forward to deploying the rest of the trains on busy subway lines in the summer, hoping that passenger numbers will approach pre-pandemic levels.
