Following recent speculation about LNER A3 No. 60103 Flying Scotsman's plans for a livery change, the National Railway Museum was asked for confirmation.
In a statement, a spokesman for the National Railway Museum said, "The speculation about what we are planning is exactly that-speculation."
The famous A3 locomotive will be discontinued in 2022 and will be overhauled in 2023 to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The locomotive can now be seen in the BR Green livery with a smoke eliminator, but recently there have been rumors and speculation about what it will look like once the overhaul is complete.
In its full text, a spokesperson for NRM said: The speculation about what we are planning is exactly that-speculation. It's great that people are looking forward to the 100th anniversary with hope, and we're working hard behind the scenes to provide the right celebration of the highly beloved locomotive. .. "
"Flying Scottsman will be overhauled this year (2022) and will announce a runway operation schedule in the coming weeks.
