The third stage of the container terminal at Berth 7, DP World London Gateway has now been completed by Pentalver Transport Ltd
Pentalver Transport Ltd are a division of Genesee & Wyoming Inc (G&W) and have announced the completion of the terminal at the UK`s largest automated and fastest expanding deepsea container port.
Extensive progress on the project has been made despite the many challenges provided by the pandemic. Phase 3 has seen large scale expansion work carried out on time and has increased the operation from 9 acres to 14 acres providing an overall onsite capacity of 7,400 TEU, creating vital extra storage for customers.
Phase 3 has allowed an increase in both maintenance and repair and also reefer operations. The terminal now operates right around the clock providing access for return and collection of empty and laden containers to supply vital haulier links in order to keep the nation on the move. Chris Laurenson, G & W Managing Director of Terminal Services, UK, said:
“The new 24-hour expansion will allow us to expand one of the UK's leading port operators by more than 40% and strengthen our significant support for the UK logistics industry.”
